Your factory Alarm will continue to work as usual with the added features. The added feature of the Dual Stage Shock Sensor works two ways. For light impacts & vibrations the warn away feature will set off the theft detterant horn for 1 second. On heavy impacts, vibrations and the breaking of a window, the factory alarm will be set off for 60 seconds. All Lights Flashing and horns blaring. After the 60 second cycle is over the factory alarm will re-set and be armed again.
With out this Alarm Upgrade anyone can walk up to your Lexus and break a window and the factory alarm will NOT be set off....

I would say if you have knowledge on wiring car stereos, wiring these units is NOT extremely complicated, like other aftermarket Alarm systems.. I would say no more than 2 hours from start to finish for a person with wiring experience.

I know this has been asked....but just wanted to verify something on the range....
The range would be the same as the factory alarm we have on the lexus right now right?
Is there anyway to boost it? Becuase i have to stand about 10feet within my lexus to get it to work

Also - do both your keyes have the same problem? 10 feet is very short.. I am able to Start my IS from 13th floors up, with a clear view of my car.
