From the picture showing someone outlining a home heater filter perhaps intending to insert a section of it in the frame for the vehicle cabin filter I suggest being very careful that NO part of the filter gets above or below the filter/frame assemlby as, at least on the RX, the air flow baffles close JUST over the filter and if any filter extends beyond the frame aspect the baffle may interecept it and adversely affect the damper. To check this, when you have the filter out, take a flashlight and look into the filter slot while pressing the recirculation button on your dash and watch the damper as it opens and closes to see JUST how close it comes to your air filter. The OEM and a filter I got from MicronAir (edit- I could not locate the specs for the OEM filter, does anyone have this?) are firm paperlike and do not extend beyond the aspect of the frame at all - and the damper functions perfectly.

Does anyone have the filtration rating for this filter and the cleaning procedure?

luis or steve... i went to install the filter for the rx300 today and realized that although the box says rx300, the filter looks exactly the same as the one for my gs400... is this correct? because my gs oem filter was so much thicker than the rx one. i tried fitting the blitz filter into the rx300 frame and it works, but after reading above i'm not sure whether it is too tall and might snag on these baffles?

Actually I just found a good tech from this forum that works at a major Toyota dealership in Phoenix. He has worked on Toyota/Lexus for 20 years. He just did my 3.76 LSD yesterday and did a great job. He actually did the work at the dealer to. PM me if you want his name and number.
