Thats fine. Still count me in for my GS400. Can we see an updated list so we can see the discount we're at so far? Thanks.

Hello Bill,
Can I ask why the Premium or 100% leather content is not avaliable for an upgrade on the GS? I'm not sure that I am interested if i can only get the deluxe content.

Thanks!

I believe that the premium content is already included in the GS price.

BeaterUK,
Oh, I looked at it again and I see that you are 100% correct! I guess I had "premium" and "deluxe" mixed up! I thought that the GS was not avaliable with the higher content, but it is standard for this group buy...

Now I feel dumb, and I read it several times!

Please put me down for the group buy, I'm in for sure!

I've bought cover for my 1994 LS400 front seats from leatherseats.com ebay auction back in December (ebay item #220035336455), and I am extremely unsatisfied. First of of all these kits are nowhere near the factory match; The kits for the seats are not 100% installation ready, - I had to make cutouts for seat controls, I had to make holes for headrests, I had to modify the plastic trim along the bottom snap in place, and in some places it had to be just left loose because it just doesn't match factory design. In some places they were too tight and in some places they are oversized and just don't fit right. Then after everything was installed I realized that these covers are overlapping the screwholes for the backpanel of the seats - so more cutting was required. And finally when the backpanel was installed, these seat covers were not completely overlapped by the backpanel, and on the top corners there are gaps about 3/8" x 1-1/2", exposing the underpadding of the seat.

Same thing with the handrest cover - you need to make a cut out for the A/C vents.

And even the covers for the headrest, which are suposed to be really simple, are still no 100%. The hooks along the bottom just do not work, they keep coming apart, everytime I twist the headrest.

But if that wasn't enough, the leather quality seems to be very low, suitable for maybe a mid 90ies Buick, not a Lexus. This leather has some sort of grain or pores that cause it to get dirty right away, and the dirt just doesn't come out. It's only been a few month, but the drivers seat and the handrest have turned almost grey (they were originally sandstone). My original seats were stolen from the car, and after 12 years and 100,000 miles the leather was cleaner than these covers after just a few month. I am extremely disappointed in the product.

I wanted to chime in on my experience. I am not buying in this GB, and I am not biased or anything

1) I dont think these kits are advertised as factory match, you have to find the color which matches the best. Usually, they will have something thats pretty close.

2) I had to make some cutouts for seat controls on mine as well. I cant remember having to modify trims and such. The seats covers were tight everywhere. But that makes for a good fit. I didnt realize that these were problems.

As for the seats not fitting your car perfectly, were they meant specifically for your config? Did you buy them direct from leatherseats.com? Or was it from someone who had it configed for their car?

3) I think you are doing something wrong here. They are super tight, so its hard to get the plastic pieces together, but once they are in, they are in.

4) The Leather pretty good. Its definately not as soft as the leather in my 07IS. But its sturdy. Its definately as good/better than the OEM leather that was in my 1999 Eclipse GSX. And its doesnt get bolster wear as easily. I dont have any problems keeping it clean in my 3000GT(Dark Grey, with Silver inserts).

And yes, it did come with both front and rear arm rests/center console.
Her is what mine looks like. I even changed the carpet to match.

Its even in their web site. Located here. Second pic from the top of the page.

TAMR_GUS98: Thanks!

BigVIPness: Yes, only Lexus vehicles in this group buy. What is your other car? We run group buys on several different forums, so let me know and I will see if we have a group buy coming up for that vehicle.

RedRider: I'll add you to the list!

DzaztrBUSE: I'll add you to the list!

Koma: Can you resend it to me at billc@leatherseats.com? Thanks!

AsianGirl007: Thanks!

cacrawfo: I'll add you to the list!

Och: Did you contact us about your issues? Our covers are guaranteed to fit, and they have a three year warranty against manufacturing and raw material defects. You said that your factory seats were stolen. Did you get your factory seats from a salvage yard? We have had several seat come from salvage yards, and even from New Orleans that were in cars in Katrina. In every one of those cases, the factory leather had been soaked, and then when it dried out the leather covers shrunk significantly, making the foam core much smaller then when it was new. Either way, if you would have contacted us when you were having these problems, we would have figured out a solution to fix the situation. We can't do anything about these issues if we don't know about them.

slammedTT: No problem.

tbrex: I'll add you to the list!

J_Rok,
I had it done at an upolstery shop in Fremont Ca. I know the owner. He hooked me up with a custom carpet they sewed together from scratch for $400. But I also had to do him a favor. I had to finish putting together a timing belt job he had started on an SC400.
