I was hoping for a GB on the update kit but noticed it was only 50.00.

Ditto, I have the SLI in my 05 LS430 and it works like a charm.
Another SLXI question. When it becomes available, if I buy the upgrade adapter, will I be able to get a "kit" for say, $30 (just guessing as it's the price difference between SLU and SLI) that includes the iPod cable and a license for the new firmware, and do the upgrade myself? Or are there other cables that are needed, or does the device need to be returned?

We haven't decided if we will make it available to upgrade from SL to SLXI using upgrade adapter.
