I just got it to work. Must have been getting some sort of bug earlier.

Looking forward to the arrival of my unit.

Should the dealer be able to install this for me? I'm not really comfortable taking my nav unit apart myself.

i installed my SLI in my 01 GS430 over the weekend... took me a bit over an hour to tidy up my cables and make sure nothing was going to rattle, but all in all, a super simple to install, very nice device...

Gave up on wait for video support. Bought the SLI. Ordered Mon, received on Thu as expected. Install was a breeze. If anyone has hesitation in self-install. Please reconsider. It is really that plug-n-play, at least on my GX-470.

Impressive product, packaging, instructions, timely delivery. One minor issue- The ipod connector is way too loose. Using a rubber band to hold it in place. Kinda cheesey but it'll stay in the dash anyway.

Bottom line is Viastech did what Lexus/Toyota engineers ignored.

Got my SLX installed, works like a champ! An FYI for anyone installing this in an RX: If you use the factory recommended antenna placement (left side just in front of the tailgate), the antenna wire isn't long enough to reach the bottom of the center stack where you're probably putting the SLX. So you'll either need to get an extension for the antenna wire, or install the tuner elsewhere. I put mine in the passenger side kick panel, and ran the control and audio cables up over the panel that runs under the glovebox.

The wire would be long enough if you put the antenna next to the FM antenna, but I thought that would look wierd and the shadow of the radio antenna might cause reception issues.

Thanks again to Vaistech for setting up this group buy. I was waiting anxiously for it and it was definitely worth the wait. Now I just have to wait for SLXI development to finish so I can upgrade....
