I'm forgetful sometimes and i leave my door unlock and i realize half a block later. I put the keyfob under my chin to lock it. If i get the key, I might have walk back to the car to lock it -_-.
I make it a rule to make sure the car is locked when I push the button on the handle.

How strong is this plastic smart card? Was it built with structural integrity and a firm feeling in mind?

Will owners of the smart card be able to paint over the surface of the card or will that prohibit frequency/signals?

Question..

If we opt. to get the laser cut key that goes into the card, will we be able to do that?

The new LS has a new "key code" to which is different that all previous models (new 08 models have the same type key code). So if you're attempting to add the SMART card to a 2007 or previous model the key would not be available.

It looks to me like he is speaking about the LS, not the IS. I think it is clear that it will work on any 2IS.

Tempting since I rarely use any of the buttons on my key fob.

Time to check with the local dealer to see how much they charge to program it, and unfortunately I'm pretty sure its more than $55.
