Are the high beams not halogen? They appear to be almost yellow compared to the lows. I just bought the car recently and am disappointed with the high beam. Lows are spectacular.

The high beam would be halogen as it is separate from the low beam. I show it uses a 9005 bulb on the 2005 LS430. If you want more light output with the high beam but want to keep the halogen functionality, I would probably recommend the 9005 OSRAM Nightbreaker bulbs. They are the brightest halogen bulb we carry and are DOT approved.

You can convert them to HID but we don't recommend it when the high beam is separate from the low. The reason is HID's have a warm up time of 20-30 seconds. The light wouldn't be there right away when you turned on the high beam because of this. Also, if you have HID on the low beam, you probably won't find yourself using the high beam as much. If you want to keep it as a halogen, the OSRAM NightBreaker bulbs will give the best performance as far as light output. We also sell Philips CyrstalVision bulbs. They aren't quite as bright as the OSRAM but a bit whiter in color.
