Thanks for the continued support VaisTech, particularly dropping the cost of shipping on the VML on request... :-)
I have a question: it appears the HDD for the VML is either a 40 or 80Gb 2.5" IDE only. Is there any way to either use a larger capacity drive and has any experimentation been done with solid state HDDs? I ask because I have a lovely 80gb SATA (not IDE) SDHDD that I could use - with zero moving parts, it's an ideal automotive drive as it's thermal output is near zero and no chance of crashing the heads driving over a hole ;-)
Thanks in advance for any investigations and response,
Cheers, Mike

Hello Vais,
Sorry. i think there's a discrepancy between what you posted here and the website or maybe i'm just misunderstanding.
for an 06 is350 w/nav and no ML to get the Ipod w/audio and video - get the SL2VI.
But, do I need to get the package SL2VI package 4?
In the same regard, if I was to get the SL2VU - would I need to get the package 4?
Thanks,
Z

I was just looking online into VML installation manual and it mentions audio wiring harness and y-cable harness being included, but nothing about USB extension cable that goes from the box to wherever I plug in usb stick. I already placed an order for VML a few days ago, should have it early next week (woo-hoo!!!), but forgot to ask the sales guy about it since I don't think I have any extention cables available.

I'm looking at the SL2i-UP for my 2006 IS350 w/ML. Just to confirm, I'll be able to control my music via steering wheel controls, the Nav screen, AND from the iPod itself? I had a friend that had iPod integration in his car but the iPod was completely locked from user control.
