VaisTech, with a 2004 LS with ML/Navigation, is the only practical difference between the SL2i-UP and the VML that the latter can play content from a memory stick and from an internal/external HDD over and above the core iPod integration? Are there any other features/benefits that would make the VML worth getting over the SL2i-UP,and does the fact that my LS430 is an 04 mean that any of the VML-specific features are limited?
Thanks!
Thanks!

And you are correct extra features on the VML do include flash drive, internal or external HDD connection.

As far as iPod integration SL2i-UP and VML are the same, only one difference is that SL2i-UP can operate in SIMPLE mode, which means you can control iPod from the iPod itself.
And you are correct extra features on the VML do include flash drive, internal or external HDD connection.

I am interested in a kit so I can connect my iphone to play music and videos. I see the kit is the SL2vi and the SL2vi-P4, what are the difference? Also I see you have the VML with includes flash drive and mass storage device, but I can also hook up my iphone for audio and video right? Is there any other difference from the VML to the SL2vi? Is there a group by for the VML? I have the factory Gen 5 navigation system and satellite radio in my car. I'm new to all this. If you have any suggestion or recommendations please let me know. I do a lot of DIY project so what is the level of this DIY from 1-10, 10 being the hardest.
Thanks

For XM radio you need SL2xMT with CNP2000 tuner and for Sirius you need SL2s with SCC1 tuner.
Thanks,

Installation of this unit is behind the radio, so the hardest part of the installation is to get to the back of the radio, once you are back there it's just plug and play.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
