do-luck sc,

According to the manual HID kits are available for the following bulbs:

H1
H4
H7
9004
9005
9006
9007

So if you have one of those bulbs in your car and it receives full power to the bulb you can retrofit it to HID.. Hope that helps!

yup, 350z

btw, do-luck sc, i have no idea what you are talking about. d2s is d2s, 9007 is 9007, they both bulb type, so don't mess them up. if your friend's projective headlight housing is using 9007 bulbs, then get the 9007 hid kit.

if you wanna go into history, hid bulbs actually only comes in two types: d2r (reflective) and d2s (projective). but companies got these bulbs, rebase them, and sell them as the normal 9006, 9007, h1, etc... we see out there.

sorry rominl,
just wanted to make sure of the actual HID bulb. i understand that 9007 is 9007, but was inquiring about D2S as to D2R. Just wanted to be sure because my friend is using an OEM projector, and i would hate to get him the reflector one instead.

I am ordering the 9007 kit, but do NOT want the D2R bulb. What i need is the D2S bulb. Steve is already looking into this for me.

As for me, I already have the Bmw E39 retrofit in my SC.

ah, gotcha well, if i am correct, all hid conversion kit out there uses the d2s bulbs and rebase them, so the bulbs you get should not have that metal piece blocking some of the output. and that seems to be the case from 2savvy's post too

Rominl,

Thanks for the info about Dr Rick.. Love the new 350Z and/or G35 Coupe.. Took a test drive of the Brembo equipped G35 coupe and it was SWEET for a stock car!

Ok now that I am totally off the subject of HID's.. I'll install these on Friday when I get home from the office if it isn't too cold outside..

Well, I installed em on my GS, took me 30 minutes. I re-read rominl's DIY thread and the directions. IT was very simple. I love the look, so much better than stock and the look-alike HID lights. Thanks Steve, you've done it again!

Ok a head on shot.. It was snowing a bit when I took this.. Like 1SICKLEX said very easy to install.. Hardest thing was finding a place to put the Ballast & Igniter.. I also used some heat shrink around the connectors that plug into the HID bulb.. 1SICK will know what I mean..
