Are the 5000K bulbs coated with a blue tint? I don't know if I'd want to purchase a blue tinted HID bulb. To me, one of the things I like about the Philips HID is that the bulbs aren't tinted and the color is real.
However, people have claimed that the McCulloch kits produce a better beam pattern for a retrofit than than most of the kits out there.
I'd be using them in a 96 ES300, which uses 9006 in projectors for the low beams. The projectors would keep the cutoff reasonably sharp, but I'm concerned about hot and cold spots in the beam pattern, and the "halo effect" by the fact that DOT-spec beams are designed to let a bit of light drift upward to illuminate retro-reflective signs. When you stick a light source in there that puts out 3 times as much light as stock, a lot more light's going to drift upward. That's been the main reason I haven't bought a 9006 kit. I've seen pics of other members cars with retrofits, and the lights have these huge "halos" which I'm concerned with glaring other traffic, and backglaring myself in bad weather.
So to get to my point, I'd love to see pics of them installed in a 92-00 SC, 93-97GS, or 92-96ES, all of which use the 9006 projector low beams.
Edit: I hope I didn't come off as being too picky, or critical of the kit Steve is selling. The fact that he uses it on his personal car, which happens to have the same 9006 projectors as mine, gives me some confidence.

Just wanted the upgrade to look "clean" And I saw the pic of that Accord with free-form reflector headlights (with the clear lens), and unless the exposure was turned down to eliminate the "halo effect", the upglare from the light looked no worse than what a stock halogen would produce.

Maybe I can help answer a few of your questions.. Yes the bulbs have a very slight blue tint thus this is why Steve has said they have a 5000k colour.. The bulbs are actually 4500k as noted on the manual.. Anyways back to the pictures I took of the Accord.. Nothing special was done to take the pictures you see.. The light is very sharp and not blinding to oncoming cars.. Best way to describe it is it looks BMWish in colour since my buddy with a 5 Series compared his lights to the Accord..
Best thing about these lights it is TOTALLY PLUG & PLAY unlike other HID systems I have seen.. I was considering doing the Foglights on the GS with this HID kit but honestly I think they would be bluer than the factory HID's..

and yes, if you put it in your fogs it would be bluer and whiter than your headlight, very weird looking imho. that's one reason why i got yellow fogs, so i can just get a cheap normal hid and make it bright yellow. the yellow fogs on my gs4 now is soooo dim coz' of my 6000k kit...

Squarehat, good discussion, I understand your point. Always difficult on projector lights to get that perfect beam pattern with retro's. I'm happy with mine, need to take some pics and post them up for the SC members, decide from there.

McCulloch's HID on a 97 SC300.......fast pics, don't know if these do it justice..............there much brighter then these show.
