Is it possible to get the new remote master key for a 2000 RX300 and reprogram it since my wife has lost hers? Some of these posts have said that you have to replace the entire computer. I just want to make sure i have it right before dropping nearly $200 on a key.

Yup....just buy the key and program it yourself.

i have a 2001 gs3 and i bought it used and all it came with is a valet key... i went to lexus for a master key and they said i would have to change the computer out completely... i don't understand y i can't just give my name vin blah blah and them just cut to match... is that possible

I been in the closet....
Actually I've been concentrating on work and getting my place together. All my free time is spent doing work on the place and cleaning or meeting artists and visiting galleries for my artwork. The GS has been suffering too. I feel like a turd for that. She's so covered with salt and dirt and needs to get a mirror replaced cuz someone damn near knocked it off.....it's so sad.

A dealership told me that replacement of a belt would be $200 and take approximately 3 hours to complete........
I bought the belt for $20 and changed it in my driveway in 10 minutes with one tool......and I don't even own a garage....
