I noticed the lack of lip in the rear. Doesnt look like the LS can handle aggressive widths on it. My guess is 9.5 would be max on 22's. I see how tight the rear looks already with the Wald wheels and thats with only a 2.5 or 3 inch lip.

The wheels on this car are 1pc forged, so they dont have large rear lips (thats a function of the wheel design, has nothing to do wth the car). The LS can yield a 3.5-4.5" rear lip with no problem whatsoever

You might be right D, but I'd have to see it to believe it. From looks and narrow fender as all the lexus cars have I dont think its really feasible to go beyond 3" on that car with 22's without extreme bodywork. Now 20's I'm sure you can squeeze and extra inch but even on the Autocouture website the LS 460 has small rear lip with the 22's on it of about 2.5 - 3" on 3pc wheels. And of course the 7 series with the exact same wheels had a 5inch lip on their website. I know Autocouture goes to the extreme with aggressive fitments and did not look like they could get much of a lip on the new LS.
You have to remember that when a company is rushing to get pics of a car with a new kit wheel fitment and large lips is not a primary concern. I'm not telling you what I looked at a picture and guessed I'm telling you what I know. Your looking at early pics to demonstrate a kit, not wheels so those could be the only 22's that A/C had on hand and they could be running spacers to make them flush. There is absolutely no way to determine how shallow a fender is from the outside, it needs to be measured. Also diameter has nothing to do with lip size so no, its not going to be 3.5 in 20" and 2.5in 22", it just doesnt work that way. Theres a member already in here with 22's with a 3" lip front and rear on 1pc wheels so what does that tell you?
To illustrate this point, the first couple of 745's in the US had 22" giovanna wheels with a 2" lip, so that tells you what early fitments and pictures are useful for
As soon as we get pics they will post them
