Default 2011: Tire rotation and valve leak fixed, tpms light blinks and then won't go off.

Last week I had the tires rotated and a leak on one valve stem fixed. Tires are all holding pressure just fine with everything right in the 32/33 mark. The light went on this weekend and is not going off. I've checked the pressure three times now using three different devices and it's right where it should be. Light stays on. When I turn on the car it starts blinking for a while then goes solid Any ideas?

Could have a dead battery in one of the wheel sensors, bad sensor etc. You'd need to pull the codes/live data to see if each wheel is actually responding to the computer.

Your going to need to find a shop to scan the sensors with a tpms tool. Typically it’s free to just check. A couple of things might have happened. A flashing light usually means the ECU is not receiving a signal. The sensor battery may have died since it had to work extra when you got that last low tire or another one might have coincidentally died. They may have also damaged it if the tire was dismounted when repaired. Due to being over 10 years old it’s probably time to consider swapping them all out anyways.

Is a TPMS tool different than a standard ODBII reader? That one I hooked up and saw no codes on it.

For swapping them all out, what is an rough estimate of what that might cost? If it's not bad I will just go do it in the next couple of weeks.

The tool is different than your code reader. Estimates are all over the place but for all 4 expect from around $240 and up.

Okay I will call a couple places this week and ask. You are suggesting swapping out the TPMS sensors themselves or just doing a battery replacement?
