What is this sandpaper-like thing under my car??
I had my 60k mile service over the weekend but this morning for the first time I noticed a high pitched squealing noise at 70mph coming from the front outside of the car. Almost like a leak from my window or something. After I parked I checked the undercarriage to make sure everything was buttoned up from the service. Nothing wrong as far as I could tell though I wasn't really sure what to look for. However I did notice something like "paper" hanging off the passenger side edge of undercarriage between the front and rear door. Like a madman I tore it off, but it was wedged between some parts and I didn't take all of it off - just the hanging bits.
It's like some kind of sandpaper material and I have no idea why it's there. It seems to be part of the car but it does seem odd. I'm 99% sure this was not the cause of the whistling but I'm curious/concerned nonetheless. Anybody familiar with this? Thanks!

Is it maybe some trash you drove over at some point and it got stuck on there?
