Default Interested in CT200h, but...

I'm looking at a CT200h. How often do these batteries need to be replaced, and how much would it cost? Is there a way for me to check to see how much "juice" is left in the battery? Are there any common issues with these cars that I should look out for? Thanks

FYI it is basically the Prius drivetrain and battery. They last a very long time. It is always a good idea to have an independent inspection performed for any potential used car purchase. For a hybrid you want a shop that knows hybrids and can check the hybrid system and battery. There are now many independent hybrid specialists as hybrids have been around over 20 years. Toyota invented hybrids and they are very very reliable. The batteries can last hundreds of thousands of miles and over 15 years depending. You should do some maintenance to keep the battery cooling ducts and fan clean as keeping the battery cool helps it last longer.

Do some searching here and browse through the threads and you will see what the common issues are on these aging hybrids.

You can go to the Lexus drivers site linked below, join for free and enter the VIN of any Lexus you are considering to buy used and then it lets you see the dealer service history and the car build sheet that shows its options. The site is a bit cranky and does not always work, so you may have to try a couple of times. https://www.lexus.com/My-Lexus/account/create-account

To see the service history at Lexus Drivers do the following:
On the page that lists the car whose VIN you entered there will be a line that states
Vehicle Health Report
Learn More - click this box
Then on the next page it will state
My Service
On the right side it will state Service History
View History - click this box to see the service history
The it will slowly take you to a page you need to scroll down to see the service history
Each entry will be a line, click on the + at the side to see more about each entry
