Default Help! Dead 12v - How to shift to neutral?

My 12V battery is dead. How do I shift the car into neutral if I can't power on the car so that I can have it towed?

Also, can I leave the car in the garage without driving it for a week? I did that, and the battery died. Is that normal?

I've left the car for 2 months in the garage and started up fine, maybe the battery needs replacing? Just make sure all the doors are closed, I had mines ajar for several weeks and the small dash warning light was on and that was the only time my battery drained, The tow truck driver should be able to jump the battery for you. Also request a flatbed tow and not the old tow trucks that drags your car.

A 12V battery should be able to last a month without needing charging. Yours was likely on its way out a long time ago, hence the current failure. I don't believe there's a way to shift to park without the 12V batt, so you'll need to "boost" it, then let the car run to charge it back up, then replace it asap.

For boosting, I'd recommend jumping to an adjacent vehicle with its engine off as a normal gas vehicle can tend to charge at a higher voltage than what the DCDC on our cars do. Let it sit for 30 secs, disconnect, then try turning the CT on.
