I would only get it if there were an array of accessories for it. No, not floor mats and applique accessories, I mean more like the Fsport parts (heavy emphasis on lowering springs!) like 1SICKLEX said

Otherwise, it's another IS for me

+1 on factory tune accessories (i.e. suspension, sway bars, exhausts, wheels, etc)just like the Scion brand. It should be customizable to the specific buyer's taste and need.

I've been thinking about getting a hybrid (prius or insight probably), but if this car comes in under $30k decently equipped and hits the reported ~44mpg, i may finally have an excuse to trade in the IS

Not sure there's a market for this - just looks like a more expensive Mazda 3. Also not sure those that would shop for a small hatch like this can afford Lexus service anyway. And an A3 TDI would stomp it in highway mpg, handling, and 0-60. Seems the IS/HS is the lowest price point Lexus can go in the market, and even the HS is having trouble finding buyers.

Just seems like a bad move.

ct200h will only has 6 speakers everyone! maybe 1 more with the ML upgrade. how does it feel when paying ~$30k for a high-end prius with just 6-7 speaker. This system is similar to the new Scion XB.

HS starts nearly at 35k and hits 45k with options. If anything the market thinks it is too expensive.

I think your A3 assumptions are just that TDis are not performers for the most part.

Nice 6 up front so most likely at least another 2 at the rear so safe assumption of 8 - 10 speakers standard, 12 speakers for ML ? ( add 1 center channel and 1 sub ) or maybe even more ?

I assume the car at shows has some sort of ML option? I didn't see a ML option at the mini-site though.

To me the youth like to bump their stereo systems so it should be made an option, even a stand alone one.

You driven one lately? MotorTrend has the A3 TDI 0-60 at 8.5 seconds, which is 2 seconds faster than a Prius so likely is faster than this CT200h, and about as fast as the HS. Plus, the instant torque of a diesel makes it more fun to drive than the 0-60 implies, especially compared to the throttle non-response of the CVT in these hybrids. Sure, it's no racer, but add in the handling finesse that only the Germans can do, and you've got the sportiest fuel-sipper out there. 42 mpg highway and a base price of $30K (plus a $1500 tax rebate), and it seems it would be a serious competitor to the CT200, not to mention the HS, especially to anyone looking for a driver's car.

Lexus does have reliability going for it though, big time. I'm not saying the A3 TDI is a better car overall than the CT, or the HS (heck, I bought an HS over the A3) - just don't dismiss it based on some pre-conceived notions of diesels from a decade ago. It would be like dismissing a GS450h because "hybrids are slow"

I would have to agree - I'm just waiting for the MPG numbers and price on the CT200h to make my decision, and the other choice is the A3 TDI. I have never owned an Audi, and have owned 8 Lexuses (or Lexii?). So I'm pretty biased, but I will still compare the two.

1 more speaker in the middle underneath the front windshield. So is this some kind of misrepresentation on the website? Clearly it's 7 speakers in the front.

You guys keep talking about the younger buyers. How about us older retired guys? This car sounds like just what I would want.
