The CT was engineered with low mass and sport in mind. Lexus has hinted at more power, even a turbo.
The FT-86 is also engineered with low mass in mind and the base engine should make around 200hp. The Boxer engine always for very low mass and a low hoodline.
What do you think?

Definitely, the details I read in an interview with chief engineer in CAR magazine were that the FT-86 engine will be a flat-4 2.0 Liter co-developed with Subaru. It will be badged both Toyota (not Scion) and Subaru. The focus will be on response, visceral feel, balance, handling and also ability to drift rather than sheer numbers according to the chief engineer.
I really wish instead of Subaru since flat-4 engines sound very guttural, buzzy and very raspy, Toyota had co-developed the engine with Yamaha. With 2.0 Liters of displacement, Yamaha can extract easily much more power. Also, the engine would be like a miniature LFA engine making it tiny that probably as big as a 1.0 Liter i-4 engine.

The Subaru boxer is a very wide engine. That doesn't bode well for fitting into a chassis that is set up for a transversely mounted engine and transmission like the CT.
Toyota has trademarks to CT300h and CT400h, though. My guess is that Lexus will release a CT w/ the 2.5L AR 4cyl and the 3.5L GR 6cyl somewhere (maybe not the US, though).
Now, I wouldn't be shocked to see the FT chassis become a Lexus, though. There is speculation that the next IS will share the chassis.

be pretty cool for lexus to incorporate the CT with the FT-86 motor, but i highly doubt it. since the CT platform is suppose to be a hybrid platform, but if they did, i could see them extending the nose of the CT to fit or like a CT F-sport with wider fenders.

Sounds like it will definitely be the 2.5L atkinson cycle AR engine. The current large 4cyl hybrid drivetrain is set to be replaced with the new 2.5L this fall. Considering the trademarked name is 300h, that will surely be a 2.5L, like how the 200h has a 1.8L.
