generally Prius does well even in pwr mode, and so far a lot of ex prius owners are averaging 45mpg on CT200h without much trouble.
even when you gun the car, a lot of that acceleration comes from "free" electric energy, so i dont expect it to be much different than gunning petrol engine (turbos should do a lot worse once pedal is to the metal)

Test drove one today, smokey granite/carmel nuluxe, premium and nav packages. The seats were form fitting. I had to put it pretty far back to get comfortable. I don't know how it would work if I had someone riding in the rear. It rides nice but the acceleration in normal mode was a little disappointing. Sport was much better. The engine wasn't strained. Definitely needs more HP. I heard the click every time I pressed on the brake, mentioned in another thread. Would be curious to know what that's all about. It sounds like something from the pedal itself. Overall I like it but not enough to get it. So it looks like my RX450h will not be getting a little brother.

however in the sport mode, it is always there even if you touch the pedal slightly, so you get a lot more response and you dont feel like you are driving sluggish car.
