I'm curious about upgrading the stereo also. Will an after market amp/system void the warranty? It seems to me that anything that draws more battery power will drain the battery faster and therefore make the engine turn on more. This in turn would lower the gas mileage?

Also, the audio system would no longer be compatible with the NAV system. Guess I'm stuck with what I have but it still sounds great so no complaints.

Just a random thought after going to the local release party of the ct in town here. If you wanted to upgrade the sound system to an aftermarket aka amp and subs and such how would this effect the battery in this car? Would it limit the system size i.e the wattage of amps?

you have to be a little bit careful because 12v is really small as it is not needed as much as in normal car, but nothing really special... many threads on priuschat with people going wild with their setups... biggest problem with Prius is keeping the car silent of squeaks and rattles once you crank it up.... it seems as if CT200h has that part well covered.

Good to know I thought because of the hybrid that would greatly effect what you would be able to do. Sound deadening is the least of my concerns.... as I say that I have never done such in this type of vechicle.

hybrid car eletronics are still powered by regular 12v lead-acid battery, like any other car... only difference is that it is smaller. Prius battery is 36 amh.

If i was you and you love bass and love music i would buy a base i would slap jlaudio w7 subs and mbquartz in inside cheaper too if u got good connections i normally go ebay find a distributor on speakers at the lowest price then go locally to price match they accept the same price locally so i was a happy camper although i blew my speakers 2nd time the shop i took it 2 does not know how to tune amps im currently looking for a expert audio tunner and installer

I should have mentioned I have a 2010 Prius with the JBL system. I think it is very good for a small car and I am thinking of trading it in or selling it out right for the CT.
