Post Lexus CT 200h JDM Window Visors - Installation Write-Up!

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've been so MIA for a while on the forums. Just lurking a lot, biding my time, waiting for my CT 200h to reach the final stages of completion. I'm not attending any shows or meets with this vehicle until it's completed by May 5th, which is ToyotaFest over here on the West Coast. Lots of big changes since the last time I updated.

One thing I did receive and install today were the JDM Lexus CT 200h window visors. Window visors serve the purpose of keeping a majority of wind and rain from entering your vehicle when the windows are open. I tend to drive with my windows open ALL THE TIME. Rain isn't so much an issue here in sunny SoCal, but wind does make the drive noisy. I haven't been able to do a test drive with the visors on yet, since my car is under wraps until I finish some major modifications, so I can't tell you if it really makes a difference or not.

I decided to install the visors more for how it looks. I think it adds a nice sleek and streamlined look to the CT without being over the top. It's a very subtle look, to be sure.

I received my package with the visors packed neatly in a flat cardboard box with cutouts for each of the 4 pieces.

The two front windows have the Lexus logo on them, but it's actually reversed, so that you see the Lexus logo in the correct orientation when you're sitting in the car looking out:

It's my first time installing visors of any sort. I recommend doing this in not so windy environments with plenty of light. ALSO, the visors are very delicate when not installed. The chrome trim will bend easily, especially in cold weather. I made the mistake of bending two pieces and there are now three dents in my front two visors. UGHHHHH. I tried using a hair dryer to heat it up and it seemed to work a little. I'll fix it later with a heat gun when i get a chance, I suppose:

Let's get on with the install!

What you'll need:

Alcohol swabs
Clean cloth

Step One: Unbox parts and lay them out carefully.

Step Two: Figure out which piece goes on which side. There will be one short piece and one long piece for either passenger and driver's sides.

Step Three: Wipe chrome trim on top of each door and the center black trim piece of each door with alcohol swab. Allow to air dry, then wipe clean with cloth. Do for both sides of the vehicle:

Step Four: Test fit the pieces. Each piece has two little clips in the top of the visor that clip into the TOP of the door, OVER the factory chrome. The visors should not interfere with window operation. The top edge of the visor will slide neatly between the top of the door and the door gasket:

Step Five: Line the window visor up with the inner edge of each door. Check for alignment. Then remove visor and remove sticky tape on the back. Replace visor carefully and press down hard. For the front two visors, please ensure the tab on the tapered end tucks into the plastic trim piece on the door where the window meets the A pillar to ensure a snug fit:

Step Six: Check for fitment, ensure all windows roll up and down with no problems. Clean up. You're done!

Wind noise is reduced by these visors, by a fairly good amount. Seems to deflect more wind away from the windows.

I paid roughly $400 for them. You'll have to contact NigelJDM on the forums for further details as that's where I purchased them from. He is a ClubLexus Vendor.

I am lowered on coilovers.

Holy Jesus Batman!!! $400 for Visors??? That's roughly $100 per deflector... Does the $400 at least include the sunroof visor?

Thanks for the info Matt

And yeah, $400 is a bit steep for me, but I am definitely going to buy these when the price is reduced
