Battery Indicator Not Filling
Just got my CT 200h a few weeks ago and have just over 2000 miles on it. Since taking delivery I have never seen the battery indicator in the instrument cluster register completely full. the final line at the top of the battery never lights up. Is this normal or are others commonly seeing the gauge at full power? I rented a Prius a few years ago and I frequently saw the battery at full power so that makes me wonder about this.
Thanks,

From my experience with my own CT as well as others asking about it. I would have to say that is it completely normal for you not see the battery ever go to the full line as well as it will never go to the empty line. The car seems to maintain the batteries between the 10-90% range at all times.

Thanks for the reply. I did some searching and it sounds like that is the case. The car doesnt want the battery to fully charge for longevity purposes. Which I guess begs the question of why the indicator has a full and empty setting or why those dont just correspond to 90% and 20%. At least now I'm not thinking that Apple programmed my battery indicator

There are times when it will get all the way full. If you're coasting down a very long hill and are just coasting, it will reach full. There's a steep incline down the I-15 on the way to Vegas from LA that I occasionally drive. That's the only place I've seen where my battery reaches full.

yes, it can get to "full" bars but it doesnt like to. In fact, it likes to be at two bars below full. If you have anything more than that, notice that the arrows will point away from the battery as much as possible to get rid of that extra juice. According to battery experts, battery health is maintained when the battery is neither full nor discharged
