Fiberglass a pod to hold a garmin nuvi (good ones are ~$400) where the OEM one goes (non motorized obviously) Hardwire the power from the 12v accessory socket that is up there.
To retrofit an OEM one, control, head unit, screen etc it may require changing entire dash harness (not positive, but I'd imagine it would require that) and lots of labor. Aka not worth the $, if she wants nav from the factory she should just click that option

the CT200H would be an ideal vehicle to perform mods imo.
Doesn't anyone make a really good dash replacement which will allow a clean installation of something like a Alpine INE-Z928HD which has a nice 8" display (Nav, back up camera, DVD, bluetooth, smartphone integration)?
Perhaps a carbon fiber dash kit. I've seen these in the past.
Would be a great option versus the expensive OEM Nav which is crappy imo. The Lexus nav in my late model rx350 likes to gives the least optimal reroutes.

One video I saw is here:
He said the word "nightmare" for what they did.
When I bought mine I did not want to buy it without the nav, so I never actually looked at the storage compartment from another car. That said, if I bought one without a nav I would look into building a bracket and modifying the compartment to allow a Magellan or Garmin to sit within the dash and run the power inside so you could not see it. I would definitely build it so it could close (by hand, of course) if possible. You could get one with BlueTooth capability and a backup camera if you wanted that functionality.
Another easier thought is what this person posted in another thread. You could get the "Device Holder" and modify it to hold a nav. http://www.ct200hforum.com/forum/att...t200h-wide.jpg
Last, there are some aftermarket units out there. This is this I found by Googling around. I know nothing about the company and probably would not trust them enough to buy from them, but I thought I would link as an example. http://fedomcn.en.made-in-china.com/...for-Lexus.html
And this one: http://fedom.en.gasgoo.com/auto-products/1635434.html
There are some more examples out there, including some from the forums here.
And you could always buy the nav assembly/buttons without the unit and modify that to house a Magellan or Garmin. That will probably be a few hundred dollars in parts. You might even be able to find one from salvage, but I doubt it.
This post as some good information if you. I assume this was done without modding the base of the storage compartment. You could still go that direction for a different unit, perhaps: http://www.ct200hforum.com/forum/lex...ml#post1659603

And just to throw a wrench into the mix because i have to deal with it. If you buy a 2013 they dont have the storage compartment on top the dash if you dont get the nav from the factory.
I am also having a hard time finding a wiring harness to add an aftermarket radio unit.
I plan to wait till the 2013 radio models come out and hopefully a harness will be out by then if not i will have to make one
