Just a random observation I noticed when I was re-doing the vinyl on my side mirror covers is that they are not symmetrical. The passengers mirror cover is significantly longer. It is probably because of the angle that the mirror has to be at. I didn't even notice the first time I put vinyl on them. It doesn't matter at all but I just thought it was kind of interesting....
Interesting...never noticed that. What year is your ride?
It is a 2012. It was in an accident before I bought it so I guess there is a chance they replaced a mirror with one from another Lexus model by mistake but that seems very very unlikely. Can anyone else confirm that the mirrors are different sizes?
Can anyone else confirm that the mirrors are different sizes?
Yes. I can actually confirm this for both CT and IS (3Gen) left hand drive vehicles. The shape of the mirrors is also different towards the a-pillar (vice versa on RHD vehicles obviously).
Although I do not have access to the actual mirror housings, the size difference can be inferred from the Lexus (OEM) mirror covers, exclusively produced for the CT (I've tested them on my IS).
Here's a photo (ignore the cable used to stabilise the lightweight covers ):
