Hi, my name is Kasey. Im looking into purchasing a 2014 ct200h, I really like the exterior/interior, Lexus did a fantastic job with the hybrid.
My concern is the battery, the particular CT Im looking to buy is $16k with 60k miles.
Can someone reassure me about the battery life of the hybrid car because its around 4k for a replacement battery to my understanding.
Any owners opinions on the CT is much appreciated.
Thank you,

The battery generally lasts 10-12 years, and while it's expensive to replace it with a new one, there are many (especially in CA) places that sell refurbished ones for far less.
Typically when the hybrid battery fails, what really happens is that one of the many battery cells fail, but most if not all the others are fine. Dealers don't mess with the battery, they just replace the whole thing with a new one. What a refurbisher does is take these batteries apart and test each cell. They take out the failed ones and replace them with good ones from other batteries, making a whole battery using good cells collected from other failed batteries, then sell them at a discounted price (often with a small warranty).

Congrats, don't let the internet scare you. California is the number one consumer of hybrid cars, Georgia is a real close second. These two states have tons of battery rebuilders. Atlanta metro has guys that do it for 800 installed and they come to you. With a warranty! So it's obviously a problem that can be fixed relatively easily, like changing brakes. I'm at 91,000 and still on my first set with I estimate at least another 20000 before I need to change them.
