Default Lexus Smart Key Credit Card

Anyone here successfully get one of those Lexus smart key credit card to work with the CT? I have a 2016 and all the parts/dealerships/vendors are telling me that based on the VIN, it's not available for the CT. That sounds very strange since the only difference between the keys are the FCC codes.

I tried searching online for one with the FCC but couldn't get any results. The FCC code on my remote is HYQ14ACX.

Can you check the FCC code on your key remote credit card please? I'm trying to see what code it is and if both match.

2013 owner here and I looked into these for a good while before I decided against it. I'm not sure if the 2016-7 models are different, but they were available for early models. Also, my non-card fob has the same FFC as yours, however, know that the smart card FCC code is different (HYQ14AEB). Additionally, if you look at this eBay auction, they claim that this works for the 2016 CT models:

I'm starting to be against the idea on it also since the local dealerships are against trying it and if it works, I'll pay for it scenario. I never wanted one when they were $500 but now that they're down to $200, it's getting attention again. If only a part guy at the dealerships were willing to search by FCC code through the models and cross reference which one has the credit card key available. I've asked a few and they just want to search by VIN.

Funny part was when I had my 09 SC430, I bought a portable F sport air compressor through Lexus on the GS side since it wasn't showing available for my VIN on the SC430.

Are you strictly trying to buy it through the dealership? IIRC, using a working TechStream setup will allow the reprogramming of even a used key fob, so buying from eBay should be a safe/refundable bet if you find an auction that explicitly states that the smart card is for your specific model and year. One reason I decided against getting the smart card was because I started to only carry the remote part (without the key) around with me, which was compact enough for me.

I'm all for doing it at the dealership at this point since the prices on them are down to the $200ish price for the card key and it'll be one of those quick get in and get out kind of thing if it'll work. I would love to have one but it's not a huge deal since I split the week driving between 3 cars.
