Default $1,400 for front wheel bearings and hubs on CT200h???

My son hit concrete seam on freeway and blew the tire on his 2011 CT200h. Shell station has great reviews but RepairPal estimates $700-1,100 (hubs included?).
Does this sound reasonable?

I hit a big pothole last month and had to replace the hub on the driver front wheel. Dealership quoted me $768.19 so hope that helps. I know a local shop quoted me $500 to get it done though.

Not sure what city/state you live in, but whoever is in charge of that road maintenance might reimburse you for the damages if you file a claim, at least in California you can with Caltrans.

I'm in Carrollton, TX (north Dallas). I already filled a claim form with the city and waiting to see what they say. Even came back one day to take pictures yada yada yada.

Default a lot of money

$1,400 is a lot of money. What are they replacing exactly?
The more detail you know, the more bargaining power you will have. Knowledge =$

1. Hub/Bearing - By "hub", do you mean that the wheel bearing was damaged? An aftermarket bearing is $40-$80 for the part. A master mechanic found on craigslist would charge $100-$200 for labor. Total ~ $140- $280
2. Rim- Was the Rim damaged too? Total ~ $150-$250 on ebay
3. Tire- New Tire ~ $100-$200
4. Rim/Tire Mount and Balance $30

New hub and tire with undamaged Rim- $270-$510
Damaged Rim- $420- $760

first off welcome. same thing happened to a good friend except it was a curb. there was a lot of damage to the right front end and went through insurance. the total bill from the shop neared 10k to get the car to align and drive straight again. i believe everything on the right front end was replaced.

Default more parts

yeah, a damaged control arm with bushings (~$125), and tie rod (~$50) plus labor and an alignment ($75-$200) would definitely add to the cost
