engine suddenly louder under heavy load, not exhaust noise
2012 ct200h ,Yesterday on a 200 mile trip I noticed sudden, louder, deeper engine noise under heavy load such as flooring it when passing cars. This is new, what's going on ?

thanks for the input, the post says" NOT an exhaust noise" . I know the difference, this is a change in the tone of the engine from the usual tenor buzzing on the run up to more of a base tone. I repeat this is a motor sound.

Hot day?
I just picked up my CT today from service and one of the things I told them to look into was that when I drove it to Las Vegas last that at some parts of the trip it seemed to sound “deeper” when I pushed it. They told me that it may have been the extra load, hot temps and the long drive. I didn’t notice it when it was cooler for the drive back so it may in fact have been the case. Let me know if you find anything different.

Check your engine oil. It will get louder as the oil level drops, especially in hot weather.
