Default 2012 CT200h Console Swap

Can an overhead console with homelink be swapped out for one with out? Are the plugs different or if it has power it should work?

Good question. I bought one on eBay and am going to try and swap the homelink module into mine. I'd swap the entire thing but the one i bought is beige and I have an F Sport. I NEED the garage opener. And i can't swap the mirror due to the backup camera. I need that too. lol otherwise i would've tossed the stock mirror in the garbage and replace it with a frameless LX570 unit. (I currently have that installed in my 3IS)

I'll let you know what i come up with. mirror is waiting for me at home now.

I took the homelink console apart... everything seems to come apart easy just using my fingers and a screwdriver. I have the homelink module separated. For now it seems to be an easy swap into my black F sport console. The black square assembly with the homelink buttons and garage opener seems to be a direct swap. MAY need to swap over the entire guts/circuit board. I was hoping to just install the buttons and actual opener.. i'll have to compare boards. I really don't want 2011 electronics in my 2015 car but not a big deal. as long as it works. we'll see by the weekend. I have a ton of other mods to complete.

Appreciate anything you find out. I found and exact color match (mine is not F-Sport) but wanted to check before I bought it. Not likely they will take a return on a used part.

Confirmed. Swap was extremely easy. F Sport homelink pieces tend to be expensive. $250 plus. I bought my beige non- F Sport console for $50. You simply undo 5 or 6 philips screws on the back and then you need to SWAP the entire back w/ circuit board and the homelink rectangle face piece which faces the interior of the car. Pops out using your fingers. Extremely easy swap. The board is plug and play. Everything works perfectly and homelink was programmed in less than 60 seconds. Simply hold down the button you want to use and hold your current opener next to it while holding its button down too. The homelink will flash rapidly and its now programmed. Easy.

You swap the main circuit board along w/ everything else to your existing faceplate... then as shown below, pop out that rectangle piece with your fingers and swap it out.

Yeah i mean the easier route is just swapping the entire console. but since I have an F Sport with the black interior pieces, it means I could do this swap cheaply since the beige homelink consoles usually go for less. Just swap the guts!

I'll now be re-selling my swapped beige console... someone PM me if interested. Of course, it won't have homelink... can't imagine anyone would ever want or need one unless theirs broke somehow. but never know
