I've hit those poles before on two different cars. The damage is superficial and buffs out. They will break light housings if your speed is high enough, as you found out with your fog lights.
Also, please consider sleeping in your car for like 20 or 30 minutes before leaving after a 36 hour shift (how in God's name are you working nearly a whole week's worth in one shift?!). You could have died or worse, killed someone else. I had someone who worked a 16 hour shift get on the road right after, fall asleep, and drifted their car into mine at 70 MPH. Luckily our cars bounced off each other (we were both going the same way at nearly the same speed), and so no one was hurt. Don't risk ending up having to go right back to the ER as a patient. It's not worth it. A small nap should get you alert enough to go home.
I know some people are sensitive about hearing things like this, so feel free to just read this and not comment. Just be careful out there if you work that long!
