Default Turn Signal Relay "Smart Tap CF18"

Has anyone installed one of these on their CT200h?

https://www.diodedynamics.com/smartt...er-module.html

I want to have the lane change tap to extend like on my ES300h. On the ES I gave it set to 5 Flashes so on a Lane Change I just slightly press it down and it flashes 5 time and stops. I have gotten spoiled and when I get in the wifey's car I get annoyed when I have to hold the turn signal lever down or lock it and cancel the lock. Smart Tap add this feature to the CT. I went under the dash and found what I thought was the relay but it turned out to be the Brake Relay.

I crawled back under the foot well for another look. It wasn't until I turn on the turn signal that I was able to locate the correct relay (you can feel it clicking). It is pretty far up under the dash and impossible to remove because it had a locking mechanism to keep it in place. It looks like I may need to disassemble part of the dash. I can't find anything on YouTube so I am asking here??

It's definitely removable while under the dash... it took me two days to do it. For me, my hands are big, so after nearly bleeding hands rubbed raw (not kidding you) i just white knuckled it and snapped the relay off. It's fine, it's incredibly robust. you are just snapping the thin plastic it attaches to. And the wire then hangs down. Extremely difficult to get to. On my first CT, i did this far quicker and it came out far easier. This particular CT it was in tight. Just keep at it and pull towards the back of the car. wiggle pull wiggle pull. it'll come out eventually. just stubborn.

edit: btw i just ended up zip tying the relay/harness down there. or you can let it hang. far easier access anyway if you ever need to change the relay out again.

I have the last MY2017. This is built-in from the factory. I can change the number of flashes up to 9. Currently, I have it set to 7, which is just the right amount for me. If you could retrofit something from factory, that would be cool.

I know of no differences for the MY 17 year in terms of the turn signals. Are you implying you have something particular to 2017 in terms of turn signals? If so, what? That wouldn't make sense from an engineering perspective to just include that feature. If you have it, anyone with any year CT has it. Maybe it's programmable?

Please elaborate just exactly specifically what you have that's specifically different from 11-16 ?

I meant that I have a 2017 model. Not stating that it's particular to my year. Unless i'm not understanding this thread, my CT has the option to modify the number of flashes for my turn signal. Going through the car's settings, there is an option for "Lane Change Signal Flashes: <#>" -- where # is the programmable number of flashes.

I just tried to feel for it with the signal on. Is it all the way to the left side and way up near the top? Is there any diagram out there to show how it's installed? My arm barely reaches up there and can't feel how it's oriented.

I found this writeup that includes changing the relay. It has a few helpful pics.

Can you post a pic. I'll try searching for that. Could be a software change. Usually that's programmable in most lexus models using techstream software but maybe its in the settings as you say, but not sure earlier models.

Must have changed in 2015. My 2014 has nav, and I don't have that setting.

2015+ has this feature. It’s listed in the MY improvements.

Well I finally got it installed. It sure is nice not being annoyed when driving the wife's car when it doesn't function like my ES300h.

I have one of these in my '15 Land Cruiser. Really really like it. It looks like the flasher is much easier to reach in my truck, it really only took a couple of minutes to do the swap. I left the factory flasher in place, just pulled the connector and snapped the SmartTap to it, then ziptied it off so it wouldn't vibrate/rattle.
