Default Adding a sub to the trunk floor

10-speaker system has a really small subwoofer.. cant even understand why its put there.
I upgraded the stock speakers and it sound now nice, but was still lacking of bass.

I had a Peerles XLS 10" long stroke, DLS A6 mono amp and holiday... lexus has waste space under trunk floor lid and they seemed to fit in there =)
I had to cut the stock sub wires and bought ACH high to low converter, which included remote for the amp.

I used stock "tool" box as a mold and made fiberglass enclosure.

I know.. again not pretty, but its hidden under the lid and curves in walls just make it stonger =)
This needed about 5 square meters of fiberglass and about 6-liters of epoxy.
Front pates are 20mm plywood.

Then I aded some upholstery to hide the ugly box =)
And added agled floor raisener for air circulation for the amps fan and to be able to adjust the settings easier.

Adjustment was a bit pain.
Finally I set the bass from the stereo close to the max to get mid bass to get the LPF low enough to avoid overlapping, but to get nice lineas transition from fronts to sub.
After the front speakers swap and sub addition, I am really happy about the sound.
Sub is big enough in a closed encosure and enough watts to produce all the way to the deepest bass.
Actually it could be even smaller as there is a HUGE amount of bass left that I am not able to use when I have adjusted frequenzy scale to my liking.

It looks like a nice mod! I carry around way to much in my trunk to benefit from something similar! Lol. It does really look nice though and I am sure it sounds even better than factory.
