DRL LEDs not working
Hi folks, the LED DRL strip on my CT200h's passenger-side halogen headlight has been on the fritz for some time now.
Initially, when the main beams were off and the DRLs on, a couple of the LEDs would not light, others (not all) were somewhat dim, and some were at full brightness.
When the main beams were switched on, several of the LEDs would not light - more than when the main halogen beams were off.
Now the LED strip does not light at all, regardless of whether or not the main beams are lit. And perhaps coincidentally, the main halogen beam on that side is not working either (not sure if burned out).
Any thoughts on what might be going on here? Do I need to replace the entire headlamp assembly or is there a fix that can be done? Any service bulletins about which I need to be aware?
Many thanks in advance for any insight given!

From what I can tell the headlight is not serviceable outside of the low and high beam bulbs and turn signal. Find a good used assembly, or try and open up the unit and find an LED strip that will fit inside.

If out of warranty, then you are on your own.
I think the whole headlight assembly will need to be replaced.
I found a used one on eBay for around $80 plus shipping.
Or an BRAND NEW one AFTERMARKET one for around $317

Thanks. That is my impression as well, but I'm curious if perhaps there is a loose / dirty / bad connection I can tidy up (or that a TSB addresses). I know that would require removing the bumper and that's not something I want to do unless absolutely necessary.

I don't know about removing the bumper, but seeing the headlight is no good why not try and repair it? Unless this is your only car and it can't be down for awhile. BTW Lexus sells replacement lenses but not the LED module.

I doubt you will be taking apart the headlight and diagnosing and fixing yourself, so you're in for a new headlight. Try to find one used... they're not cheap though. For some reason our headlights are expensive on the used market. Especially for a halogen headlight..

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Since it looks like replacing the headlight requires dropping the bumper, I'm going to do that and and try to clean up all the connections external to the headlight housing to see if that makes a difference. If that works, great, otherwise I guess I'll be going the used headlamp route.
Cheers!

Maybe the price for used is high on these because the LED strip commonly burns out?
