Could the overheating of the engine cause the HG failure?
I missed this.

The coolant issue was when the coolant was leaking into the cylinders when the HG blew. Right before this, I had a coolant leak due to a piece of debris taking out a coolant line under the car, which could have been the underlying reason for the HG failure, though it is a known issue for this engine.

Nice work on the detail, as a guy who used to do a lot of this on the side, it's not always the easiest feat.
Thank you. The detail job was done by a friend who has all the gear. He did a great job, I agree.

Not offended at all. If by conventional battery you mean the 12V battery, then yes. They last 5 to 6 years typically and mine started to give out recently, so I replaced it. It was after 500k miles, but I forgot to enter it into my log so I have to go get that info and update later.

If you meant the hybrid battery, that one is designed to last around 10 years, and I have not had any issues. It still charges and discharges to proper levels, and has not given me any error codes.

Front brakes did not last 500k miles, they were replaced, along with the rotors, at 335k miles. Rear brakes almost did though, as I had them replaced at 495k.

I work in the Houston, Texas area, so warm weather is typical for nearly the entire year. I also drive on cruise control at 60 MPH on 95% highway, 5% city roads. I normally see 45 MPG to 52 MPG, which is why I am able to average 47.

They are not as great for fuel economy, but they are very good tires otherwise. My new ones are General Altimax RT43, which are also very good so far.

So far, so good. It has survived daily highway driving with debris and trucks trying to destroy it, lol, a few hit and run wrecks, a few windshields having to be replaced, two major repairs resulting from the two major issues with this engine at high mileage, and a few high-water situations during some of the bad flooding we get in the Houston and Galveston areas here in Texas.

I would love to get the new Rav4 hybrid, and would also love to get the Rivian R1S when it comes out late 2020/early 2021, but right now, it has done everything I've needed it to, so I want to see how far I can push it.

As far as pictures... I really wanted to take a few but the car is dirty because the plan was to detail it at 500k. I found out that a friend does this himself and is offering to do it for me at his home. I'm going to see him soon and get a quote to compare to a detail shop I spoke to before. After that, picture time!
Did you replace or fix the hybrid battery??

Nope. It should last 10 to 12 years on average regardless of miles. No issues so far, 6 years and 588k miles later.

Your car has traveled 10x the amount mine has. I have 58,000 miles. lol - 2015 F Sport

surprised you're on original wheel bearings. post some update pics, tire pics. would be interesting to see. I bet if you make it to 1,000,000 miles, lexus will give you a call and buy you a new car

I will do it at 600k! My General Altimax RT43 should be around 40k miles by the time I hit 600,000.

I don't know much about the technical details, like wheel bearings, but I'm glad everything seems ok so far. Everything on the car is original minus valve lifters (replaced only because 4 were showing signs of wear and they're cheap), water pump (replaced proactively due to rumors it fails early and intermittently without warning, but was still running), one coil (seal was accidentally removed during a test and water was able to get inside during an engine bay detail), and the intake manifold (replaced under TSB after one of the two known defects with the engine design hit me). I think that's it, but I remember more, I'll post it.

Did you replace the tires? If so, what mileage? 🤔
