I've been busy the last few months and hardly had time to visit the forums, much less post anything, but here it is:



I'm sitting at just above 507,000 miles. I've had no major issues since my last major repair (intake manifold replacement under TSB due to a clog from the EGR system).

I finally replaced the rear brakes as they finally got worn out, at 495k miles (original factory rear brake pads! The front original factory brake pads and rotors were replaced at 330k miles).

Car is running just fine so far. I still have 2 tiny rattles (driver's door panel and center console), but they are intermittent and very rare. Also, the light that lights up the passenger side seat heater **** is dead.

I finally got the part for the moonroof that came loose and was causing issues replaced. Still doesn't run as smooth. Needs lubrication maybe, or the rubber is wearing out.

My old IS300 had over 230k miles when I sold it. In contrast, I just paid $1500 on my wife's 2014 BMW X5 with only 45,000 miles for the repair of a bad fuel injector. Crappy German engineering.

The plan is to keep it as long as I can. You never know when I may end up changing jobs, the car might die, get totalled, or maybe I may find a need for something else and have to switch. So far, so good. It has survived daily highway driving with debris and trucks trying to destroy it, lol, a few hit and run wrecks, a few windshields having to be replaced, two major repairs resulting from the two major issues with this engine at high mileage, and a few high-water situations during some of the bad flooding we get in the Houston and Galveston areas here in Texas.

I would love to get the new Rav4 hybrid, and would also love to get the Rivian R1S when it comes out late 2020/early 2021, but right now, it has done everything I've needed it to, so I want to see how far I can push it.

As far as pictures... I really wanted to take a few but the car is dirty because the plan was to detail it at 500k. I found out that a friend does this himself and is offering to do it for me at his home. I'm going to see him soon and get a quote to compare to a detail shop I spoke to before. After that, picture time!

Congrats Raidin. Post some pics! Even if it's dirty I'd still like to see the car naturally as it sits. that's part of the fun. As a facelifted F sport owner, I can appreciate your posts. Detailing is easy. Buy a random orbital buffer kit like this one and a good polish/sealant combo like this and spend a saturday morning in the garage. You can go on youtube to find out how to use a random orbital. It's simple. Just make sure you wash the car and clay it before polishing. First thing I did when I got my CT. i thought the paint was already shiny and after this, it was like deep glass.

Germans take chances and innovate. Chances Lexus is starting to take. New LS with all its tech and turbos is generating a lot of complaints, apparently many are being lemon lawed. The 3IS is also starting to show a lot of problems.

Once you go up in tech and power and especially w/ turbos, nobody is immune. It's just that Lexus has been conservative for decades so many *today* incorrectly compare old lexus to new (everything else).

Tide is changing, turbos are coming, fiber optics are coming, 24V battery systems are coming. Complex suspension w/ aluminum parts, multiple bushings, multiple dual-pivot hubs w/ dual balljoints. These things are all necessary cause the germans have them and its part of why the germans got so famous and have the driving reputation they do. Lexus has no choice but to play in the big german boy arena so naturally will inherit some of the same problems. Just the nature of the car biz.

I like great cars no matter where they come from. I don't do tribalism, teams, or colors. All the top car companies create great products and offer something unique.

Congrats on the half a million milestone. I came looking around the forum because I'm leaning towards buying a ct 200h and wanting to check for reliability issues. After seeing your thread I didn't need to go any further. I thought I was doing something with my is300 with almost 375,000 miles. Original unopened engine,trans, and read end. Hoping to get 400,000 out of it. Worse thing I've had to fix to date was a wheel bearing I just replaced a couple of weeks ago. 40/50 mpg sure beats the 19/20 I'm getting.

That’s awesome Raidin over half a million miles and just changed the rear brakes,,,it doesn’t get any better than that. great comfortable car too I love my new used 2013 also!

Your car was actually the basis for my decision to purchase a CT200H!

I'm new to this forum, but I have owned my 2014 CT200H for about 10 months now. I commute roughly 44K miles a year, which is just chump mileage to Raiden, but for many others I guess I would be considered a super-commuter. I previously owned a 2000 Honda Insight.that served me well through 365k miles. The Gen 1 Insight is a truly special vehicle with a dedicated owner base, but after so many years I found myself wanting something more out of my daily commuter, while not significantly sacrificing gas mileage. I only stumbled upon the CT200H while looking at Prius models. From there I found Raiden's threads regarding his CT200H's longevity milestones and decided I was ready to take the leap!

It took me a solid 6-7 months of daily searching to find my desired combo, and then I had to purchase and ship it to me without seeing it. Almost a replica of Raiden's CT200H, my car is Ultrasonic Mica Blue, with F-Sport package, the Leather/Memory Package, Parking Assist Option, LED headlight package, and Navigation. I gave up looking for Radar Range, as the LED headlight option alone was ridiculously hard to find by itself. (pic of the car on showroom below)

I ended up paying $18.5K for my CT200H with 28K miles on it, but if I can make it past 300K miles as event free as Raiden has, then I feel will be doing just fine in the value to dollar department.

Thank you Raiden for all of your car's mileage updates. Without them I know that I would never have been an owner of one of these great cars!

Bad news for me. Since I do 10k miles a year, my meLex will last more than 50y.
Anyway, I will not have to buy another one

Glad to know these cars are built to last. Bought my 2016 CT200 F-Sport in January 2019. I drive about 120 miles per day for work and errands and hoping mine lasts as long as the OP's.

What package is that that has the headlight washers? I've looked at over 25 Ct's('14-'17) and NONE of them have this option.

It’s quite a rare individual option that didn’t come with a package. I actually shopped for a very long time to find one with the LED option. Trying to find one in Ultrasonic Mica Blue with the options I wanted took me a year probably, and then I felt lucky to find it lol. I would guesstimate that the LED package is the second rarest option behind only the Adaptive Cruise option, of which, I have only seen Adaptive Cruise on 2 cars ever, with Raidin’s being one.

I also have the Luxury package option, which seems to also be somewhat rare past ‘13 for some reason. Probably because the NuLux seems to work just fine.
