CT200h hone issue
#16
My 2012 CT200h horn is not working and the dealer says it is the spiral cable clockdrive, part 84307-76040 that needs to be replaced. Dealer price is over $800. Online OEM Lexus parts go for $550. There are several really cheap versions at $30-$50. Are the cheap ones any good? Some have a 3 year warranty. Can they be trusted? Reliable? Any one have any experience or educated advice on which to buy? Thanks, Elaine

Thanks for responding! The car is 11 years old and I have owned it just one year. I suspect this is the first time the clockdrive has failed. I am happy to purchase the cheaper one. I found one with a lifetime warranty for about $50. With the huge price difference between it and Lexus's ($880), I wondered if the cheap one would even fit or have all the correct wiring. I guess that was what I was hoping to hear from folks on the forum. Can we trust the cheap versions of parts?
