Smile Towing Do's and Don't for our CT's

I was thinking of adding hitch bar also to tow a small Home Depot rented trailer for gardening supplies and possibly small furniture pickups.
The trailer is 3'x5' and has a 2000 lbs tow limit. Has anyone towed something like and if so, what was your experience?

Thank you.

I towed regularly with my 2nd gen prius and overloaded it quite a bit too. Never had issues I would recommend to keep to your coolant flush recommended intervals as my headgasket finally blew at 280k.

1,000 lbs is like a few friends and their gear/luggage. so i wouldn't think its a big deal for the car.
