They make ones for the CT with the F logo lol. They gave them to me when I bought my 1st CT F sport in 2016 and I got a pack on ebay last year. they're harder to find now from what i remember. but you should look around.

I've thought about the gear selector but there's not really any good options. Round looks kinda ricey or juvenile even if it is OEM (like from the GS) I feel the current shifter is the best shape that suits the car, it's just the quality is kind of on the meh side. The stock shifter despite being as long as it is has a low profile. i think any aftermarket (or OEM GS etc) will sit high.. thus giving it a strange/juvenile look.

I've learned to just live with it. but let me knnow what you find.

Yeah the key cover i can live with, functions just fine. And they are hard to fine, the OEM leather style one. I found 2 sellers and not exactly on my 1st search (and not specifically for the CT even then).

My thoughts exactly on the gear selector. The low profile of the existing one is key. Dont need some bug thing protruding from the stereo area. And most of the shorter ones are designed to work with a boot on a GS for example or a manual trans, so they look funny. Otherwise they normally are just too much, ricey like you say. I dont want it for "cool" or flashy looks so much.

There is 1 I found which I think is the right size and shape. Comes in oval or round and I think should blend in well enough with the CT console area. Ive looked at probably over 100 (under $50)...and picked 1 possible.

Its about 2.3" long, but still oval shaped.
Its cheap...but i dont THINK it will lessen the looks in the cab. Pretty low key but a little "sporty" which stays in line with the F-Sport touches...

Also, part of my concern was the weight initially. Maybe the existing one us light for a damn good reason haha. But after checking closely a little heavier shouldnt be a big deal...the gear selector feels strong as you move it around and im sure can handle a little something extra.
Now a 5" metal handle...could be too much strain.

preferably i'd like a push button console like the aftermarket one for the Prius.

The stock shifter we have is definitely unique, and i think unique to the CT. So it that sense, it's sort of a unique part and an upgrade all in itself. I feel like throwing a universal part on there is a downgrade.

i've looked since my first CT in 2016 and nothing really caught my eye. Decided to just save that money. Definitely post pics if you try it out.

I agree with you on that point. It is unique and like most OEM parts, far superior to an aftermarket part (especially something universal). However, still don't like it lol.
But I've noticed we agree on that point, so many guys downgrading their cars cause they think it looks cool.
I think I'll order it but even at just $20, kind of a waste. Amazon is key here so if i feel dumb for wasting the few bucks ill return it.

So I put in the new gear selector / shift ****.
Although its the same exact length, the threads don't go as deep as the OEM so sticks out a bit further which i wanted to avoid.
At first I thought it stood out too much, but the rest of the day I didn't even notice it. Feels better, looks meh. As of now ill keep it a few days at least.

Thanks for taking the dive. I always wondered how much thread engagement one of those ***** would have. Looks fine.. blends in at least. Thanks for not getting red lol

What would be cool is our **** shape, but in CF/real leather. the gray plastic is what bothers me.

Red? Never...but thinking of trading in for an 8-Ball with orange flames lol.

Honestly I may return this. I just want it sunken in a bit further like the OEM one, looks better in the pics than it is i think.

Part of my problem is the 8mm threads adapter is not threading all the way into the **** (cheap crap). So ill try again to fix that as it would go on further a tad if I can.

If anything i'd go with a GSF **** or something.. but i think those may be a tad tall. I told you i already had given this thought since 2016 and i gave up on it. there's no good solutions =p

we would need something low and sleek with the right amount of thread engagement. would need to be built specifically for our cars which you know isn't happening.

Our best bet is to buy a spare CT200h **** and try to modify it. I want to pull away the plastic to wrap it but it seems somehow fused together. i don't want to try and find out with my stock ****

Back on this lol.
I wrapped the IS **** without disassembly VERY carefully and just never got it quite right. Vinyl should wrap the edges and not be cut at them if you know what I mean. Although if cut 100% perfectly could probably apply vinyl without taking apart the ****.

Although it came out ok....there was maybe 1/32" of silver plastic exposed and I swear it was the 1st thing I saw in the car everytime I got in...

Anyways I removed and reinstalled the aftermarket one a coupe times now...guess its staying for a while.

Yeah the clearance (or lack of) is way too tight. no way that would look right. as said, you'd need to shrink wrap it around and tuck it all the way around on the back side. that's where i'm at where i'm at with just deciding to stick with the stock ****. lol.

I suppose you can always mask off the surrounding area and just spray paint it. if you really were hell bent on a different ****.

to me, too little of a thing to care enough about
