I recently purchased a 2017 base model ct200h, and because of the incredibly low mileage and price difference between the Fsport and the base, I opted for the base. I love the design of the spindle grille though and would like to have that instead. I was wondering if I was able to purchase a spindle grille off of eBay, if it would fit my base 2017 CT and how easy this whole endeavour would be. Could I do it in my garage for under $500?

 

The grilles are swappable, I believe it's three pieces, upper and lower and surround. You'd have to remove the bumper and pop out the grilles from behind. No painting would be needed.

 

I'm pretty sure both are known as "spindle grill" as it refers to the overall shape/design and not the texture.

As far as the mesh-type F Sport grill, you may want to check for aftermarket replacements, i think they exist and are much cheaper. otherwise you may as well go for the whole bumper to complete the look if you're going to spend that much. The dark lower fog trims are different.

 

The bumpers are the same. It would just be swapping out the grill inserts, and adding the fog light surrounds.
