I do it every so often, much easier than I had guessed when I got the car. Whatever car you got you have to hit top speed at some point when the conditions are right.

Although rare, if I'm at those speeds road is wide open, clear view, and early hours. My younger days of 150mph+ on public roads are over. Will say the CT feels nice and planted on the road for its size.

Lexus claims a top track speed of 114 MPH. I've only gone up to 100 before in mine.

I believe the top speed is transmission limited.

yea i was thinking there's something like a limiter, or governor. i got to from hwy speeds 55 to 100 pretty quick in sport mode lol, but from 100-110(107) it had no more acceleration. i was driving down hill slightly. guess gravity was the extra 7mph , i totally get that now.

It definitely feels trans limited, or different than my IS which was governed. Mines been at 115 and is not dragging after 100, but the only part I'll do that is on a slight downhill, then up but maintains up the slope.

sport mode won't get you from 55-100 any faster than ECO.

sport mode is more for response in partial throttle situations. it does give you additional voltage but in partial throttle situations.

the car gives it it all when you floor it regardless of mode.

FWIW, C&D tested and said the CT is drag limited @ 112mph. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...ct200h-review/

That can probably mean the car cannot make enough power to overcome aerodynamic drag at those speeds, therefore drag limited

If I understand how the Toyota Synergy Drive works the IC engine and the MG1 power into the
sun and planet gear sets of the planetary assembly and power to the wheels comes off the ring gear.
It would seem to be limited once the IC engine reaches redline and the MG1 is spinning as fast as
possible it just can't go no mo'.
