I do mine every 100k miles which is once a year for me. I use Toyota's OEM fluid. It's been mentioned long ago over at PriusChat that a recommended schedule is 60k at first, then every 30k miles. Mine always seems clean so I pushed it to 100k/1 year.

Transaxle fluid. Toyota WS only. 40-50k is fine. no filter.

There is no filter. It is not a real transmission, there are no clutch packs or torque converter etc and Toyota calls it a Power Transfer Unit. You just drain the old fluid and fill it back up until fluid flows out of the fill hole. It is as easy as changing the motor oil.
You can also use Idemitsu-tls-lv ATF - Amazon has 5 quart jugs.
