I just posted one of my timeslips (13.679) on dragtimes. (I lost my 12.900 one, apparently). That was my first time ever on a track, so before you ask, what I was doing for 1.3 seconds is admiring the pretty colors and numbers on my tachometer. My RT did get better each time.
you ran 12.900 with what mods?

13.6 stock is a great time. Also, I noticed you were in texas. If you were at ennis, then you were racing into a pretty stiff head wind today. We had strong winds out of the north. If you were racing down in houston, then sorry. haha

I notice new people tend to not understand this so hears the heads up. RT has nothing to do with your total time run in the 1/8th mile or 1/4 mile. You can sit at that light for 30 seconds if you want and your trap speeds and over-all time time will be the same. Time doesn't start till your wheels move.

I got better with each run, and the 4th one was .192. Just takes practice, I reckon.
I just posted the thing today, but I actually ran it on Saturday, 2/17 - the same day that Gernby was there... so, my latest R/T is 15 days?

You guys know a perfect reaction time on a sports tree is .5. Anything less is a red light as it takes .5 seconds from the last amber until the green light comes on. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtree.html. On that page you can also practice your light skills. Try this for fun. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/nhraxtreesp.html

Yes, I read that, too. However, the guy handing out timeslips at Texas Motorsports (Ennis, TX) told me that the perfect start was .000, so that's what I was shooting for. I tried to go on the last amber, eventually getting down to .192. Maybe they programmed that .5 into the timeslip-printed number at that track, so it would be more logical in the reading of it?
Anyone know what the Ennis timeslip looks like when you redlight?

I agree with that, but my point is that my 4 timeslips read:
1.356, .597, .386, and .192. All positive numbers. So, if .500 was perfect, anything less would have an associated negative sign on the printout. Hence, .000 is perfect at that track, not .500, on their printouts. I don't know about other track's printouts. .500 is the number to shoot for if you're talking about the time between the last amber, and the green. But, the printed time is from the time the green comes on, and you break the beam leaving the start line. That's the way I see it, anyway.

perfect reaction time can be either .500 or .000 depending on which drag strip you're at. The one i've been going to used to have a .500 for perfect r/t but they changed it to .000 a while back. I get a free ticket to test & tune night if I hit .000-.009 r/t and I have had a few of those with the IS350. It's so easy to hit a good reaction time with the IS350 if you don't brake torque the car. IMO the IS350 is very good car for bracket racing because it can be very consistent.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't make much of a difference. Car crosses the 1/4 mark in 4th gear either way. One of these days when I feel like messing around I'll try the 1/4 mile in all 4 modes. Snow/Normal/ECT PWR/Manually shifting it.

Just curious, but what track are you going to? Watch and record the barometric pressure, temp, elevation and humidity if you can. Pull the spare, 1/4 tank of gas, drive in ECT PWR mode and let us know how it goes. I'm sure you can get better than a 13.7 unless you are a huge man.

Pressure is currently at 30.26 I think? http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USMS0145
I plan on taking the spare out. I got a 1/4 tank of gas.
Hopefully those links pull up Gulfport MS -- ZIP 39503
Elevation is 50'.. soooooo dunno.
