2 Step, right tires, and a tt LSD will hopefully solve every thing.

My Opinion(s):
- keep the diff ratio or dont go lower than 3.9x
thus install a torsen unit in your existing diff to keep its ratio and speedo stays accurate.
- if you are trying to build a fast 1/4 mile car. go to/back to being auto and build it, it doesnt miss shifts, shifts faster, and you can brake boost.. but thats more a preference than a necessity.
- and a faster spooling turbo, you want more mid ranged power not high end dyno queen numbers.

fyi, rubber and air weighs less than a bigger rim. so more tire, sidewall and less rim will save on weight almost all the time.. and i doubt you have featherweight rims.

I'm not sure about that, a lot Supra guys use that gear ratio when they go single, but OP should do some calculations to find the optimal gear ratio for his power level and shifting points.

fixed.On a 5 speed W58 or R154 it would be crippling. The 98 GS400 / SC400 VVT-i which are also 5 speed have shorter 2nd and 3rd gear compared to the W58/R154 to offset the tall rear end.

Ill do it guys this is all a lot to take in and opinions all sound good! I'm really use to my lsx series engines and t56. Those are so easy to run. My clutchsetup is a act extreme Pp. And it grabs immediately. Off the line it just bogs bad tho. First gear isn't even usable. I hit redline immediately with no boost built. 2nd comes on strong but I have to shift just when she feels likes angry *** bunny. Shifting to third I'm its back to a bit of lag. I really didn't want a true crazy fast 1/4 mile car. I love the highway and highway pulls though I keep it safe. But I wanna beable to compete. On the highway 3rd and 4th are my money gears but I top out 4th at like 100 I believe.

My rims are 18" work vs kf 3 piece wheels. They are maddd heavy. I still have a bit of tuning to do as well though she comes on strong and air fuel is safe. How did you guys setup your 2step? I never has a clutch pedal sensor as the car was auto. But again I wouldn't dare launch her in this rear. Is this r154 even safe to do. I had krawlerforks installed when I did clutch. I'm just dissapointed as I blew the doors off my dads ta that runs 10.98 quarters on a highway roll. I'd be embarrassed on the strip next to half the Honda's around here. But I don't wanna be that Guy who's like lets take it to the highway. I'm really thinking about selling this car and starting all over.

What do you mean you're not building any boost in 1st gear? Like everyone else is saying get sticky tires with a tall side-wall, then make sure both tires are spinning . After that, setup your 2-step so you can launch with boost. And finally go to the track and practice!!! It takes time with a car you're not used to, or a new setup.

-Id imagine that your tranny ratio is close enough that if you shift quickly you should have much lag in 3rd gear.
-And make sure your not doing a burnout/driving through the water box with street tires.

did you run your car at the Mooresville Dragway since you only ran a 1/8? w/ my old turbonetics 60-1 i was able to hit 8.3 @91mph on 15 psi, true street tires, w58 and open diff. at that time i was making a little over 440 whp on a dynojet. i believe my 60' was a 2.0 on that run, i kind of just feathered off the line otherwise i would bogged like how you did. do your car happened to be white? post up some pics of your car.

Nice run. Yours definatelt comes out the hole better and boost pretty quickly. There's not much lag between 2nd and third but again I need to fine tune her. Alright I'm going to get me a new rear end and set my 2 step up. Here's a pic of the lex

There a couple shots of the bay. Yea I guess I'm going to look for a new diff. I need help with figuring out how to wire up two step without a clutch switch. Ahhhhh always something to do.

You can buy a clutch switch for around $15 and wire it in if you did want to go that route. Nice car too, sir There are more of us here in NC than I thought.
