Default track night with sc300 2jzgte very dissapointed

Alright guys this was the first night I took the car out to the track out here in Charlotte NC. My car is a 92 sc300 2jzgte, map ecu 2, master power t70 are. 96. 16# spring. 93 pump gas, r154 trans with stock auto 4.27 diff. Very dissapointing times. Best was 8.7 at 90 MPH. I'm not new to the drag scene and I was not launching the car buy any means. I'm thinking the gears are just entirely to short. I wad on my 275 40 18 street tires. And wasn't spinning bad. Though 2.3 60 foots were also terrible. What are you guys trapping and what could cause the extreme slow times? I expected more low 8 to high 7. I figured the 4.27 would actually benefit me. But not at all. First gear runs out immediately with no boost till last 200 rpm 2nd feels strong and third lags then strong. Just thought I'd share.

Try adding a 75 shot of nitrous for the low end, hooked up with a pressure switch. So when you hit like 7 or 8 lbs of boost it shuts off. That will help you a lot with the lag. How much power are you making? If you have some kind of power street tires suck for the track. Get yourself some ET Streets Mickey thompsons so you can make some nice times.

Your gear ratio is too tall, try 3.76's from the auto tt or even the 3.26 from the GS400, so you can build up full boost without running out of gear.

ur turbo is to big, and if you trying to do drag time. go for a t67 size. borg warner s366 is what most supra guys use or a precision turbo

Everyone in here is wrong.

2.3 60's are what is killing you.

Get the diff to turn both wheels, and get real tires. Voilah.

You spent too much time and money on the HP, you forgot to support that horsepower with suspension, diff, etc.

Btw a 7 in the 1/8th is like an 11 in the 1/4, get that thing to hook up!

You need a way better launch. Get an antilag box and some better tires and youre all set.

I have tanabe sustec pros. I didn't mess with the dampening control. I'm going to throw in this sc400 diff to help the gearing. Ill have to reasearch on this anti lag valve. I do have a 2 step but it'd be pointless to launch on an open diff. I felt it wheel hop when I went 2.2. Thanks for the input guys. Y'all are great. And power I'm not sure of my numbers. Probably high 400's I would assume.

Sticky tires, 2 step, and drive it like you stole it.

Definitely get an tt auto LSD... that should've been done long before you took your car on a track with that tranny.

Yup the 60ft is your problem as everything comes down to the 60ft so get that to a 1.8ish and you will see the results you are looking for.
