Same here! The rear deck is weak and flexes w/the bass. What to do?

Find a way for the bass to come through. I cut a huge chunk of metal out of my rear deck and now Im waiting to rebuild the back deck with some MDF. Heres a link to explain.

Cool

The stock system was crap. Just 5, 10 and 15w cheap *** paper stuff.

I swapped mine to Infinity Kappa 6.5" components for the door / tweeter, 3 1/2" kappa for the dash spakers, the rear deck is two Kicker SMB's, and two 10" L7's in the back. Sony head unit, Sony 10 disk cd/mp3 changer, JBL 1200.1 amp. No stock wiring in the system.

I have the Mark Levinson system and I like it but you have to boost the mids and highs for a flat response curve. It has tons of bass but I keep it flat. Really sounds great but the LS and GX have the 14 speaker version which is much better.

well.. suggestions... if you don't want to put out the $$$$.. then just get yourself a nice set of infiniti component set and replace it.. .. but if you want the whole block to hear you coming and roaming like a G.. then do what LexBox or Pheonix did.. and yes. the stock wires are GARBAGE!!!!!!

Ya, the stock wires are a joke. They would be really good. *If* you didn't have to contend with the wierd amp (on early 300's), and have to re-wire & splice the heck out of the entire stock system. Good soldiering is rarely worse than straight wire.

But who wants to soldier and heat shrink when you can run new wire in less time? What's the difference in take two panels off VS three or four, but saving a bunch of time??? It wasn't worth it to me.

Should I just replace door speakers with 2-way or the component speakers, and what model will most fit for the Lexus head unit ?
Thanks again

Regards

ummm.. i'm not very good at speakers.. but my suggestion... since you have a 96 and i got a 93.. their're somewhat the same as in interor design.... i believe we share a 3 speaker front set.. two tweezer on the top and a base on the side door.. i think a good pair of component set is good for you.. since you can replaces the tweezer near the mirror.. just pick a good brand that's the same size as your stock speaker. around 150bucks should be the most you'll spend on component speakers., try ebay or shop around.. so you won't have to cut and size the plastic that holds the base speaker.. but i think Pheniox and LexBox would know these stuff more than i do..

Alpine 9831, a JL 12w3 sub, older Rockford 400w amp and a Rockford digital 1 farad cap...sounds great and it is just enough.

These are some of the better brands in car audio.

Default my little setup

i really like my little setup i have in my ES, i have a 600 watt memphis amp pushing 2 15" audiobahn subwoofers, its some excursion model (i forget which one its been awhile)

i have a jvc mp3 headunit, i want to purchase a new headunit soon...
Those details along with the stock lexus speakers pack a powerful punch at least it sounds pretty good to me and its how i want it, when i want to hear any genre of music.

pictures soon after i wash it tommorrow

I have two 12" Blaupunkt subs powered by a 1200w 2005 Sony xplod amp. It sounds great! I like the sony amps, especially the xplods. I also had to change out the front door speakers, but have not gotten around to the back yet. I kept the factory head unit to keep its natural look.
