Default trd supercharger

Have any of you guys with second gen es's intalled a trd supercharger? I havnt seen one and I was wondering why no one has done it yet. In the future after my es dies (hopefully a long time from now) i would like to get a solara v6 and try out that supercharger. Just wondering if you guys know anything about it. Also while im on the trd topic, that trd camry body kit that a lot of second gen es's here have.... is there any way it can be fitted on a first gen es? Or any part of it that can? Thanks

i will probably be the first es300 on here to go forced induction... i have basically scrapped the idea of strapping an hks turbo onto my motor b/c the tranny wouldnt be able to handle the power.. plus i dont feel like upgrading internals at the moment.. so im opting for the supercharger... luckily my car doesnt have vvti(vvti has dual throttle bodies & the s/c wont work with it)... so yea

on the trd lip kit... i dunno if it would fit on the 1st gen.. i dont think anyone has tried it yet

Cool

I think I speal for myself & MCE now. It costs too much money for our cars to become fast.
You might aswell save the money & out it into another car that can actually be made so.

Heobag I may be out that way after the new year, if ya do it I want a ride <g>. Asmuch fun as tourqu is, with the turbo you're not looking at tranny ecu mods.

Tony the Tiger has his '94 1mz-fe setup with a Supra CT-26 turbo & got great luck with it. Then again he's a god at Toyota Nation He's approachable on AIm if you're nice to him & he'll answer about any questions at legnth (as will his brother).

Just remember that the original price he though up was around $8G's for someone to do it... Obviosuly he didn't have the horrendous ecu problems that we have either...

If you never saw it check this out.

i have connections for these type of things, it wont be that much cheaper.. maybe 5 grand, but a lot less than 8 for a good turbo... BUT ill probably save the change and go for the trd s/c and see how that works out

hopefully by this weekend I will have owned my 3rd ES. lol . I'm gonna hook it up with a TRD S/C and get a 5-spd manual conversion. Hopefully I'll get that all done by March. I can't wait to start this project. I estimated the cost and it should all run me a good $5000-$7000 .

This is the first time I've ever heard of someone trying to install a S/C in an ES, not to mention a 2nd-gen ES. I'm kinda curious to see the results of an ES behaving like a performance car

rukarims, what kind of numbers do you expect to get out of the engine performance once it is installed?

Not sure about the #'s. I stopped by the Toyota Dealership today just to find out the cost of the TRD SC and to make sure it will fit on my engine. They mechanic is suppose to call me by friday. He said there should not be a problem, but he is going to find out before we starting ordering anything. As for the #'s, I'm guessing with a stock ES300 motor which is pushing 200hp, and with a TRD SC I should hit atleast 270hp . This all really depends on what happens this weekend with the 97' ES I'm looking at.

His website says he sold his '94 ES and currently has an '01, though in another thread he mentioned he's looking into getting a '97 ES.

eh.. if you have the 01 es300, the s/c wont work because:
1. you have vvt-i
2.the s/c was made for the non vvt-i 1mz-fe
3.you have dual throttle bodies, look at #2
4.for it to work, theoretically you could have a single throttle body, but no one knows for sure

I have driven in the s/c 1mz-fe and it isnot worth the money or the time. The dyno's shows teh results very well at teh wheels .
As for tony and his toys like the integra and his camry,Don;t think they work well in any way shape or form.
He is on his 3rd tranny in a year i think and the engine is totalled as well.So i wouldn't say it is working well for him, he just has teh money to keep throwing at it.
