Default just added remote start to 03 es

i just installed the viper 791xv alarm system in my es with remote start. this alarm is the best you can get plus the remotes are two-way so u know the status of ur vehicle at all times.

I have alot of problems with their brains just dying for no reason. also the remotes range gets less and less as time goes on.

I am curious with these remote starters....how do you get by the chip and transponder link with the lack of the Lexus key now.

Do the remote starters integrate into the electonics in such a way that the security shut off of fuel is still active if someone tries to steal or hot wire the car now???

I just ask because I see alot of these starters in New England (helps provide warm cars to get into on frigid mornings) and I know nothing about how they would work in a car like the 02+ ES.

DEI has all the transponder bypass modules specific to each different manufacturer. All newer cars just require a simple 3-/4-wire hook-up with these modules, whereas older cars require to have the spare key with the built-in transponder inside the car with a universal bypass module.

I just hope the 791XV479V won't have too many "problems" compared to the 790XV/478V. Other than that, it's a great system...of course, next in line to the satellite tracking alarm system.

i have the 791xv and still put a key in the center console. it works better that way. even though that key with the chip is in the car the car still cannot be started with that chip unless it is with the remote start. you do not lose the imobilizer feature because the key is in the car it is hidden in a module that only sends a signal when the remote start is trigered.
