1999 ES 300 coach edition with 30K
Guys,
A friend I know is thinking of selling his 99 ES one owner coach edition car.
Assuming the car is in Good shape with low mileage and clean title car, what do you think is the market these days for a low mileage (30K) 2nd edition good condition ES? Also, does price for the same mileage car really change with regular vs coach edition?
6K? 8K? 10K?

"Fair value" rating for a clean 1999 with ~80,000 miles is $6,000-7,000. For a car with that low mileage and being Coach Edition the value is what the seller can get for it not much reference to go on. About a year ago I was offered $15,000 for my ES that's about 11K USD.
Coach edition has nicer leather, birds eye maple instead of walnut and fancy badges.

I was curious and looked at KBB with 30K and the regular edition
is going for no more than $7,000. Can’t see how a COACH edition
with same mileage can get almost 50% more though or 11,000

That doesn't account for the rarity and other factors. As I said any car is worth what it will sell for not necessarily book value. Of course you can use kbb as bargaining power. Also used markets are different depending on location, here you will have a very hard time finding any decent used car for $10,000. You'd be amazed the pieces of junk people are getting good money for, cars they list as "mint" etc. are anything but. I could sell my ES in a day for 15K.

When you are moving into the $11,000 USD range you are now talking About getting the 3rd generation ES although I never like the 3rd gen and always liked the 2nd gen.
I actually owned a 2nd Gen ES before but it was about 124K on it. The car was very smooth but the steering was very numb Like a boat. Most 2gen ES sadly now ate all pretty beat up and not in great shape.
no doubt an LS can still command the big bucks but the ES not sure these days as there were many of them around. I do like the white 01 ES though

2002-2006 is actually the 4th generation ES. 3ES is more desirable from what I've seen in the used market likely because they are becoming quite rare in good condition. Plus people generally like the styling much more. LS400 is a major step up of course but it's an expensive car to own especially as they age.

Personal taste I guess but I hate the 4th generation ES.
Still think the 1st and 2nd is the best looking ES out there.
Back to my original question, how desirable I wondered are the first
And 2nd gen with low miles? I actually don’t see too many low mileage
1sr-2nd gen ES anymore though

I have a soft spot for the 1st and 2nd gen (2nd gen only 92-93) because they optionally came with a manual transmission.

For something so rare you should be referencing Bring a Trailer as you’re not selling a regular used car. It’s more of a unique collectible for a special buyer.
