A/C blowing warm air and compresser kicks on
Hello all,
New member here.
I have an 03 Lexus es300.
The air conditioning has degraded quite a bit.
If I I have the temps turned down all of the way, it blows very little cool air.
The freon is up to level.
I have changed the cabin air filter but am now at a loss.
What are the steps to diagnose this beginning with the first to last??
I don't want to throw away $$$ on a wrong part.
Thanks in advance,
Ray

How do you know the system has the correct refrigerant charge?

I recommend sourcing the Lexus repair Manual
https://techinfo.snapon.com/TIS/Register.aspx
or
https://www.alldata.com/diy-us/en/diy-repair-information?section=Product
It has all the specs, step by step diagnostic processes etc. Well worth it

Two common failures are the speed sensor in the compressor, and the blend door solenoids. The latter especially likes to go bad on these cars. Do a search for blend door quite a few threads pop up related to your problem.

Hello,
The fact that the gauges tell you the right pressure doesn't necessarily mean that your system is filled to a proper amount. First, you actually need to make sure that you do have enough refrigerant in the system, regardless of what the gauges are telling you, using the Service Window for the A/C system, then make sure that the clutch doesn't run continuously, and that both High and Low pressure lines are at vastly different temperatures, all that would verify that the system is operating and the issue is elsewhere. If all that is good, then it likely has something to do with the blend door, if not, your A/C system is in need of maintenance.
You shouldn't have any trouble finding information on anything that was mentioned above then..
Hope this helps and best of luck!
